Marilyn Monroe’s story is as inspiring as it is tragic. If you look deeper than the surface level, past the bombshell exterior, then you’ll find someone who was totally ruthless in achieving what they wanted, and a total wrecking ball in their industry. She faced a lot of external adversity for being a woman in the 50’s, but I find her internal victories even more impressive. Throughout her career, she battled severe anxiety, stage fright, and a constant self-doubt about her own intelligence, competence, and even looks. She’s way more than just a sex symbol, and I’ve learned a lot from studying her life. She’s cool af and very inspiring.
